  1. Introduction to PTFE tube. PTFE is also called polytetrafluoroethylene: ordinary PTFE pipes are white and opaque, mainly including conduits, hoses, pipe lining pipes, braided reinforced pipes, etc.

  PTFE tube has excellent high and low temperature resistance and superior chemical resistance. It can transport liquid or gas at a temperature of up to 260°C, and has high chemical purity, which is more suitable for a wide range of continuous working temperature requirements.

  With its excellent electrical properties, PTFE tubing also makes it a more suitable material in the electronics and electrical fields. It is mainly used for electrical insulation sheaths, chemical transportation, heat exchangers, medical urinary catheters and surgical vascular bypass. And PFA is also called tetrafluoroethylene: the physical, electrical and chemical properties of PFA tube are similar to those of polytetrafluoroethylene.

  So the main difference between the two is that PFA is a melt-processable thermoplastic. PFA pipe has excellent stress crack resistance and bending life, but its permeability is not as good as PTFE.   2. Wide application range of FEP tube

  FEP tube, as the name implies, FEP spiral tube is a spiral tube made of fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer. It has corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and insulation, so it is generally used to make high temperature wires, cable insulation layers, anti-corrosion equipment, sealing materials, pump valve casings and chemical containers.

  The temperature resistance and low temperature resistance of FEP straight pipe is very good, because it is made of fluoroplastics with good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, weather resistance, fire resistance, non-combustibility, high oxygen index, and no water absorption. Radiation resistance is very good.   3. Nursing skills of FEP tube

  FEP tube is also a typical plastic product. Because these products are made of special materials, they need special care in daily use. It is necessary to know that FEP pipes are made by inflating process. What are the important factors that need to be determined in the process of its application?

  The molded FEP tube is easily affected by temperature, so try not to expose it to direct sunlight, so as not to accelerate its aging due to ultraviolet rays. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid extreme heat and extreme cold to avoid shortening the service life of the FEP tube due to thermal expansion and contraction.

  Not only can the FEP tube be placed in a place with too cold, overheating, and sunlight, it can also not be placed in a humid and airless place, it will also reduce its quality. If the FEP tube has not been used for a long time, you must carefully check it before using it to prevent bad consequences caused by cracks.

  In addition to determining the appropriate process parameters for the inflation of FEP pipes, other factors need to be considered comprehensively. First, the correct process must be selected.   At the same time, it is necessary to fully consider the influence of the crystallinity of the base tube on the inflation. Since FEP is a crystalline fluoroplastic, with the increase of crystallinity, the elastic modulus and hardness will increase to varying degrees, while the tensile strength and elongation Elongation and flexural resistance will be reduced accordingly. This is very detrimental to the production of heat shrinkable tubes, because the inflation base tube requires high tensile strength and elongation.

  In addition, there are proper extrusion process conditions, which are the key factors to increase the inflation rate of FEP pipes. It is recommended to use a smaller stretch ratio, which will help to increase the transverse strength of the pipe and increase the inflation rate.

  Various properties of FEP tube F-46

  Chemical resistance

  The chemical resistance of F-46 is similar to that of polytetrafluoroethylene, and it has excellent chemical resistance. Except for reacting with fluorine and molten alkali metals at high temperatures, it will not be corroded when in contact with other chemicals.

  Mechanical properties

  Compared with PTFE, F-46 has slightly improved hardness and tensile strength, and the coefficient of friction is also slightly larger than that of PTFE. At room temperature, F-46 has better creep resistance; but when the temperature is higher than 100°C, the creep resistance is inferior to that of PTFE.

  Other properties

  F-46 resin has very good oxidation resistance in the atmosphere and high atmospheric stability. The radiation resistance of F-46 is better than that of polytetrafluoroethylene and slightly inferior to polyethylene. In the air and at room temperature, the minimum absorbed dose at which F-46 begins to change in performance is 105-106rad or 103-104Gy, so it can be used as a radiation-resistant material.
