In recent years, PTFE gaskets have been widely used as sealing materials and filling materials. The full name of PTFE gasket is PTFE gasket. It is also called PTFE gasket or Teflon gasket abroad. It is a flat gasket made of PTFE rods, tubes and plates by mechanical turning or cutting. , V-shaped gaskets, piston rings, ball valve gaskets, etc. In fluid machinery (such as pumps, compressors, mixing kettles, centrifuges, etc.), the parts with the most severe operating conditions are PTFE gaskets.
Manufacturers of PTFE products use PTFE gaskets as engineering plastics, which can be made into PTFE tubes, rods, belts, plates, films, etc. It is generally used in fields such as pipelines, containers, radars, and high-frequency communication equipment with high performance requirements. The use conditions of PTFE are in the chemical industry, petrochemical, oil refining, gas, organic synthesis, non-ferrous smelting, steel and high-purity product production.

Generally speaking, the specification of PTFE gasket is inner diameter + outer diameter + thickness, and there are the following processing methods:
1. Through the production of PTFE pipes, turning and processing into a certain thickness of gaskets, suitable for small sizes and small batches.
2. It is cut from a certain thickness of PTFE sheet, suitable for large, medium and small sizes and small batches.
3. It is molded by a mold, suitable for large, medium and small sizes and large quantities.
However, it can be produced after the inner and outer diameters and thickness of the PTFE gasket are determined. However, in some cases, more detailed information about the PTFE gasket is required, such as the material of the PTFE gasket. The material of the PTFE gasket can be divided into pure PTFE gaskets, enhanced PTFE gaskets, modified PTFE gaskets, etc., as well as an understanding of the form of flanges. The surface of the PTFE gasket is in a three-way compression stress state, and the deformation resistance of the material is relatively large; while the middle part of the PTFE gasket is less affected by the end, and its deformation resistance is also small. Under the same preload, the middle part of the PTFE gasket is more prone to plastic deformation than the surface. At this time, it is more difficult to establish the initial seal. Therefore, when the thickness of the PTFE gasket reaches a certain value, the sealing performance does not change, even deterioration. In addition, the thicker the PTFE gasket, the larger the area of penetration and leakage, and the greater the penetration and leakage rate. The gasket is deformed by increasing the flow resistance of the fluid. The compression of the gasket is particularly reflected on the gasket surface and the flange surface, which can form the initial sealing ability. It reflects the change law that the deformation of the gasket material increases with the increase of time under a certain temperature and load, and its stress decreases with the increase of time. In this way, the leakage of the PTFE gasket may be greatly increased under high temperature conditions.

The effect of the thickness of the PTFE gasket on leakage: Under the same compression load and the same medium pressure, the leakage rate decreases with the increase of the thickness of the PTFE gasket. This is because under the same axial load, the thick PTFE gasket has a larger compression rebound.
